block shop is the design brainchild of sisters, collaborators, and best friends..lily and hopie stockman of cambridge, and soon to be of LA!

their journey began only a short time ago, when lily (trained as a painter) moved to india with her husband, and learned of a village where block printing is a treasured tradition.

before she knew it she had fallen in love with the people the village and this ancient beautiful slow craft.

since then, her sister hopie and she decided to start a company together where they would dedicate themselves to doing one thing well. {lesson 1 :keep it simple stupid.}

and they have accomplished just that. now they are being celebrated and talked about everywhere you look..they are a cause celebre, enfant terrible, shock of the new!

and not only can they be found in the press [apartment therapy, remodelista, and design love fest] but when you meet them in person they are the real deal. warm, enthusiastic, and pouring everything that they are into block shop!
